		<description>Probably should have prefaced this post with why I even had to go research servicemarks in the first place, but suffice to say a client has requested we add this mark to one of their offered services on their website. No idea if they are planning on registering it or not.</description>

1) How to render a service mark on a webpage.

2) What a service mark is.

Maybe you should suggest your technique to &lt;a href=&quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_mark&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Wikipedia&lt;/a&gt;. Their SM symbol doesn&#039;t render in IE 6 :)

If people would just register their service with the government we wouldn&#039;t have this problem!  We can just use &#174;</description>
